The Dream Center is a non-profit organization that serves as a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs, all provided free-of-charge.

 
 

Adopt-a-Block: Spring BBQ 2025

Volunteer Information

  • Volunteer Check in time: 10:00am

    • Location: 3400 Smalley Rd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

  • Canvassing, Canopies, BBQ and Tables setup: 10:00am - 11:00am

  • Adopt-a-Block Spring BBQ open: 11:00am - 2:00pm

    • Food tables, Clean Teams and neighborhood gift drop offs

  • Adopt-a-block Spring BBQ closes and teardown: 2pm - 2:30pm

Volunteer Area Overview:

CANVASSING

  • This area facilitates the distribution of event flyers to local residents before and during the event.

SETUP

  • An hour before the event begins, this team ensure that all canopies are set up and any other items are in order.

Food COOKING/DISTRIBUTION

  • This area facilitates the cooking and distribution of BBQ meals to those attending the event.

CleanING/TEAR DOWN

  • This team during Adopt-a-Block cleans up and tears down canopies, leaving the area better than when we found it.

Christmas Hope

Since 2017, O.C. Dream Center has partnered with local churches, ministries, and cities throughout Orange County to bring Christmas cheer to those in need through our Christmas Hope program.

Identified Youth

Art can be a powerful lifeline for at-risk kids. It provides a safe space for them to express difficult emotions they might struggle to articulate. Whether it's painting, drawing, or sculpting, creating art allows them to process challenges and build self-esteem. Art programs can also foster a sense of community and belonging, giving these kids a chance to connect with positive role models and peers facing similar situations. In fact, right here in the OC, the OC Dream Center hosts a weekly art program specifically designed to empower at-risk youth through creative expression.

Disaster Relief

The OC Dream Center has a proven track record of providing critical support during times of crisis. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Dream Center stepped up to address urgent needs, offering essential resources and assistance to those impacted. Following the devastating Los Angeles fires in 2025, the Dream Center once again mobilized its resources to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery support to affected communities.
